Introduction #
Enhance your search experience by configuring synonyms and spelling corrections. This helps users find products even if they misspell search terms.
This feature is exclusive to the PRO version.
Enable Automatic Synonyms Indexing #
This feature automatically analyzes your product and post titles, as well as tags, to generate synonyms and store them in a dedicated database index. By enabling this feature, the search system becomes more intelligent and adaptive without requiring manual input.
Navigate to the Smart Search > Synonyms page in the dashboard and enable the Automatic Synonyms Indexing toggle.
Use Synonyms for Fallback Search #
When a search query yields no results, Smart WooCommerce Search will automatically utilize synonyms from the indexed database to find relevant matches. This ensures that your customers can always find alternative results, improving the overall shopping experience.
Navigate to the Smart Search > Synonyms page in the dashboard.
Display “Did you mean“ Keywords #
Show related keywords or synonyms in the search results popup beneath the search bar to guide users toward more accurate or relevant queries.
Navigate to the settings of Smart Search widget General tab > Search Engine Features and enable Display “Did you mean“ Keywords toggle.
Adding Custom Synonyms & Spelling Corrections #
- Access the Synonyms Page: Go to
Smart Search > Synonymsin your WordPress dashboard. - Add Synonym Pairs: Enter pairs of misspelled and correct words in the provided fields. Example: “suprise” as a synonym for “surprise”.
Synonyms added on this page will apply to all Smart Search widgets.
